I've been going through my archives and I stumbled upon this shoot that I did for Guest of a Guest DC back in 2013. Scott Schuman is the man behind the lens and the blog The Sartorialist. He spends his days scouring the streets of New York, London, Paris, and the list goes on for fabulous street style. Scott wanted to take a look at fashion and it's relationship with our lives, thus The Sartorialist was born.
I would never consider myself a fashion forward person. I've been stuck in a rut of sweaters and black slacks for the better part of 10 years now. I suppose conforming to what others are wearing around me in our matching cubicles is the reason. Figuring out what actually looks good on my body is another thing. This doesn't mean that I don't love fashion and drool over Chanel, Christian Siriano, Elie Saab, Oscar de la Renta, and I literally could go on forever.
This event was so much fun to shoot. I especially loved that there were quite a few men that showed up to the event. I am in love with mens fashion. There is absolutely nothing like a crisp white shirt and an amazing fitting suit. I managed to pick up a copy of his book and I was secretly hoping that my outfit for the day met his standards. One can only hope!
