Happy Tuesday everyone! I'm a day late in posting my Weekend Wrap up, but better late than never! :) This weekend was crazy busy with TONS of AMAZING!
A while back I made the decision to make 2015, "The Year of the Workshop"! The goal is to dive in and put myself out there, learn more about the wedding industry as a whole, grow as a photographer and more importantly as a person. I literally could spend all of my money and all of my free time going to workshops. I can't tell you how awesome it is to be in a room with fellow creatives! Sometimes I feel a little alone out here in the photography world, but that is far from the truth. There are so many wonderful groups in DC/MD/VA and across the country! If you're interested in hearing more about this, let me know and I'll gladly share! :)
The wedding day is full of chaos and tons of things happen behind the scenes that no one knows about. Normally I would attend a photography workshop, but I really wanted to learn more about the countless hours that go into wedding planning. And that my friends is what brought me to the AVE Inspired Planners Workshop.
As a photographer, it is 100% essential to coordinate with the wedding planner. Not only am I running around like crazy trying to get everyone in place and to the reception on time, but I literally have a ticking timeline that I strive to stick to! I also have my must-have shots for the day and if the planner and I aren't on the same schedules we will definitely run into problems. This is where Ashlee and Tricia of Ashlee Virginia Events come into play! These ladies are beautiful, driven, and they know how to go the extra mile on your wedding day. Oh - and they rock some ADORABLE aprons too :)
The workshop was absolutely wonderful. We covered every topic under the sun and we spent the afternoon learning how to put together a beautiful styled shoot which was nothing short of amazing! The flowers were just exquisite, the calligraphy makes me want to take a class, and I won't even get started on the fabulous swag crates that were put together. I loved everything like Ron Swanson loves BACON! Oh and there was champagne...it was after all Sunday brunch time. :)
I took some quick shots with my iPhone below and I'll have more for you guys later this week from my camera! :)
